In 2022, BUN pitched to the Birmingham City Council the idea of establishing an affiliate of ToolBank USA in Birmingham. The Magic City ToolBank began serving charitable organizations like Birmingham’s 99 Neighborhood Associations in 2024, renting a range of tools and equipment at low cost to empower local volunteers.
